Kick-Off in Namibia

The initiative aims to develop a revolutionary concept for green energy and clean water in Namibia through an autonomous energy system. The approach involves storing renewable energy as hydrogen via an electrolyzer, which can be reconverted to electricity using a fuel cell when needed.

The oxygen produced during electrolysis is utilized to treat contaminated water into potable water. Project partners Krenkel Abwassertechnik GmbH, Haver & Boecker oHG, Fraunhofer IWU, and Texulting GmbH traveled to Namibia during the specified week to network with local partners and define concrete on-site application scenarios.
